Rally & Competitive Obedience

Mommy took me to a different puppy class this week. Well, I guess this was the class that the big dogs go to. They had a short Rally course set up for us to work on heeling. I had never done Rally before but Mommy talked me through it. Mommy said I did a good job.

After everyone went through the Rally course we did some "Stand for Exam" practice. Stand for Exam was something new for me. I like new things because I get lots of treats. For those of you who don't know any Labs - pretty much any Lab can be bribed with food.

When we were done with the Stand for Exam we did group sits and downs. Group sits and downs means that we all line up and do a sit and then a down while our parents are across the room. During both the sit and down stays Mommy decided to go into another room where I couldn't see her but I knew she would come back for me so I didn't worry.

Puppy Class - Week 5

Whoops, I guess I missed a week 4 update - Sorry.

Week 5 was a good week. We went to the park and had puppy class there. It was nice because there were a lot of things going on and the fresh air was nice. I got to practice "Leave It" with people, other dogs and goose poop. I think Mommy was prepared for me to really go after the goose poop but she told me once and I left it alone.

At class we worked on heel with distraction and also did a lot of sits and downs with distraction. Our homework this week is to practice in 3 new locations. It will be fun to find new places to practice.

Goldwing Riders

I went to Vassar with my Mommy and Daddy. Daddy had the camera out so there are lots of nice pictures. Today was the Goldwing Riders fundraiser event. They have chosen PAWS as the organization to raise money for this year. I wasn't sure what we were getting in to with all those bikers but they were really cool people who love dogs. There were lots of motorcycles and one of them was even set up with a side car for the rider's dog.
Mommy had to get me a new collar because I was too big for the old one. I thought we were going to have to cut it off before the new collar arrived but Mommy was able to wiggle it off over my head. Daddy picked the color. It is called Electric Lime.
I spent most of the day laying around and minding my own business but I was happy to jump up if someone wanted to pet a puppy.
Mommy was using treats for me today. Whenever there are yummy treats involved I start to drool. I sometimes get these big strings of drool. Mommy thinks they are both funny and a bit disgusting. Normally she wipes them off my face but this time she took a picture before wiping my face for me.
I have really good eye contact. If you have the leash and look down you are likely going to see my sweet face looking up at you.
This is my friend Blossom. She is an older woman (6 months old now) and she is very pretty.
Cisco was being silly for 1 nano second and Daddy was able to get a picture of it.
This is Cisco's normal mode. He is very good at holding the ground down.
